The Dance
I look their direction,
Hoping to catch a glance,
Without detection,
My first and last chance.
I catch his eyes,
So I turned away,
My stomach turns to butterflies,
Today was not to be the day.
I feel a touch upon my shoulder,
So I turn with a smile,
And I feel my heart stir,
My stomach jumps a mile away.
I look deeply into his eyes,
And wonder if he is truly looking back,
From those eyes as endless as the skies,
Which never seems end in black.
My knees buckle under me,
He catches me by the arms,
And like that he set me free,
To tell him without self-inflicted harm.
My lips form the words,
My mind says this is my only chance,
And as I move like wind with the birds,
He asks me to dance.

I imagine a world where the raindrops
Are tears from the angels crying
Tears falling from joyful laughter
The breeze their gentle sighing
